Booking is through Resy. Counter reservations open on the first of each month at 10:00 EST for the month following. Dining-room tables can be booked up to thirty days ahead, and we hold a handful back each evening for walk-ins.

Counter seats are released monthly
On the first of each month at 10:00 EST, the whole of the following month opens at once. Joining the seasonal letter gets you a reminder the evening before.

The counter is prepaid
$185 per guest is charged by Resy at booking and covers fifteen courses. Drinks, tax and gratuity are settled at the end of the evening.

Arrive on time, please
Service begins together. We hold seats for fifteen minutes; after that the sequence has moved on and we cannot bring it back.

Cancellations
Free up to 48 hours before. Inside that window the seat is non-refundable unless we can fill it — we usually can, and we will refund you if we do.

Is there a dress code?
No, but the room is quiet and low-lit and most guests dress for it. We ask only that you skip strong fragrance — it sits over the fish.
Can you accommodate allergies at the counter?
Yes, with notice at booking. Shellfish, gluten and pregnancy-safe sequences are routine. Please tell us rather than declining pieces at the counter; the sequence is built in advance and we would rather rebuild it than leave gaps.
Do you seat children?
The dining room welcomes all ages. The counter is best for twelve and over, simply because two hours on a stool is a long time.
Are walk-ins possible?
We hold six seats in the lounge each evening for walk-ins from 17:00. The counter is never available without a reservation.
The night I want is full. Is there a waitlist?
Yes — use Resy Notify on the date you want and it will alert you the moment a seat is released. Cancellations inside the last 48 hours are common enough that it is worth setting.
Can I buy a gift certificate?
Yes — in any denomination, valid for a year, sent in a folded card by post or as a PDF. Email [email protected].
Where should we park?
There is a garage directly across the street that validates. The 72nd Street station on the 1, 2 and 3 is a two-minute walk.
